Artist Statement:
My most recent work and what I
am currently working on as a
project is exploring household
products with brand names that
have been around a long time.
I have begun collecting
nostalgic pieces to paint and
photograph. I want the viewer
to get a sense of connection
to something that is more
familiar to them even though
it may be from their
childhood. The nostalgic
household products used
everyday in the home are
instantly recognisable but not
necessarily appreciated as an
art form. I am also
interested in capturing energy
in my paintings, as though you
are about to witness what you
believe to be a solid object
slowly dissappearing,
dissolving or just on the
verge of melting. This has
been a running theme
throughout my most recent
brand name objects paintings.
