The Suffering is one of the
first pieces of original
modern art sculpture, by up
and coming South African
artist, Frederick Scanlen.
The artist grew up in South
Africa and is currently based
in Scotland whilst seeking new
cultures and sources of
inspiration. His works include
poetry, painting, sculpture
and photography. Frederick
draws his influences from real
life experiences of poverty,
violence and the harshness
that life can bring. He aims
to show the beauty of the most
simple things in life that are
are often overlooked.
