Artist Statement:
ART AND ITS CONCEPTION
In the creative process, we can start from reality, but we must find our own way of communicating, resisting the temptation to give in to simple imitation. Reality is only a point of reference. Art is and must be abstract to the extend that it makes use of ideas, not objects. But being abstract does not mean being empty of content. I feel that if an artist has nothing to say, nothing to communicate, he can't create art. In addition, he has to find a way of doing so.

En la creación podemos partir de la realidad pero debemos buscar un lenguaje propio para comunicarnos, evitando caer en la simple imitación. La realidad es sólo una referencia. El arte es y debe ser abstracto en la medida que trabaja con ideas y no con objetos. Pero ser abstracto no significa que sea vacío en contenido. Considero que si un artista no tiene nada que decir, nada que comunicar no puede hacer arte. También tiene que encontrar el camino ...
