Artist Statement:
I appreciate a wide range of
styles, but I am currently
most inspired by the style and
color usage of a few artists
from the California Figurative
movement: Richard Diebenkorn,
Elmer Bischoff (favorite work
is Yellow Lampshade 1969), and
Nathan Oliveira (favorite work
is Adolescent By The Bed
1959). Hopper and Van Gogh
have had much effect on me as
well.
I am also heavily influenced
by the art, architecture,
culture, subways, dirt, grit,
grime and controlled chaos of
New York City -I lived near
there in my youth and visited
often.
