Artist Statement for Frederick Roberson

"Build a man fire and you'll keep him warm for a day."
Light a man on fire and you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life...literally!!!"
Simply stated, my art is about abstract expressionism in a modern contemporary form.
It is my hope to provoke images that will force the viewer to observe them and simply to try to understand what their sole existence in the universe could really mean.
Once the image is figured out....the picture changes.
