Artist Statement:
Art for me is an ongoing dialogue with life. It is an adventure, a process that reveals the world to me, and leaves me in awe every time. These past few years as an artist have been a journey of self-discovery for me, as well as spiritual healing. Art connects me to life like nothing else has...I enjoy creating new, original paintings, as well as recopying old masters. I also accept commissions to paint portraits. My latest series of oil paintings are a result of my personal experience of soul searching. It's great to be able to express yourself in paintings that others can relate to....

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
Because I am an artist. I love to sit quietly, slowly creating a work of beauty...I love colours. And I find the whole process of art, of creating, magical. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I was interested in art ever since I was a child, but it seemed like 'too much fun' to be taken seriously. So, after a tortuous route via copy writing, interior designing, and copy editing, I finally took up art as a full time vocation in 2003. I've not had much formal training as an artist - although have studied the history of art at the post-graduate level, and sporadically attended drawing and painting classes conducted by other local artists here in Chennai. I've had two group shows to date, and two solo shows, all here in Chennai. I create original works of art, as well as enjoy making portraits of people and re-copying the great masters. |
