Artist Statement for David Kam

David Kam is the founder of the Thinkism Art Movement, the 1st fine art movement of the 21st century

The World is Changing

The events of September 11, 2001 has brought profound change to the world around us. We are living on the brink of a world metamorphosis. All this chaos should produce powerful art! What do we get, nice flower paintings, houses, and wall decorations. Most artists are stuck in their old school concepts of art.

The Thinkism Art Movement was founded on September 12, 2001 by David Kam to change the perception of art as mere wall decorations. David wants art to become a rich source of food to enrich the mind, and to feed the soul. Thinkism art explore people's relationship to the world, and our relationship to one other. You can say, that Thinkism Art Movement is mainly about bringing a higher social consciousness to art.

Thinkism Art As Food for the Soul

We hope that our art movement can inspire the viewer to think about making positive changes in their life, and in society. Art can be meaningful beyond words, beyond culture, and language. David Kam feels there is a certain responsibility for artists to create works of art that shed new light on various social issues, philosophical issues, political issues, environmental issues, psychological issues, religious issues, and other complex matters.
