Artist Statement:
Words, I have to write words… like all the painters I know, I am dyslitc, dyslextic or even dysletix, why is that the dyslexic word so hard to spell?
I believe our brains are different, and that’s how we lean towards been creative
I am a representational painter with a respect for all the painters before me. I want to move forward, learning new techniques, and ideas to help maintain a fresh and open approach with a knowledge of the past and the importance of drawing, and now I want to concentrate on my structure and compositions
With an eye for passionate, beautiful, unusual, romantic, gorgeous subjects matter I hope to paint stories with good compositions
I want my hand to move fast, lines to indicate real speed, momentum and direction. I want movement to bypass intellect and I my own energetic gesture and my hand varying the character of the line
And now with the emergence of the digital camera and mobile phones, the world can photograph everything, and oil portraits are unusual and desired...
