Artist Statement:
David's work is based on the
natural enviroment,and the
elements.He often walks in the
beautiful Welsh countryside
observing the landscape and
recording on film that which
inspires him.
Upon initial viewing David's
work has a strong sense of
realism but you soon discover
the many abstract qualities in
his work. The innumerable
swirling shapes and flickers
of light combine to create an
almost dual image,one that can
be taken in with a quick
glance or one which you can
get lost in for hours
" I am a great fan of the
photorealists,I love the
snapshot quality of much of
the work especially Chuck
Close and Vladimir Sevcik. I
like the idea of capturing a
moment in time. Although I too
work closely with photography
often manipulating an image by
changing colours etc and
shifting focal points,
stylistically i am probably
closer to the pre-raphaelites.
I like to let the viewer in on
the creative process and the
techniques used to create my
work can be examined once
close enough to the pictures
surface."

private collections and he has
been involved in a number of
