Artist Statement:
I paint things that inspire
me, which are usually ideas,
though often the simple visual
impact of a design is enough
to give a picture the required
strength to engage the viewer.
My artistic background is in
technical design, stained
glass work, and literature,
all of which influence my
painting style, and although
my paintings don't fall into
any particular category, I
simply try to express thoughts
and emotions in visual form.
In a world full of imagery, I
attempt to consider the "could
I live with it" factor, since
a painting is a stable
artifact, and like any of the
objects we surround ourselves
with, it should have
usefulness and beauty.
