Artist Statement:
My intention as a photographer is to capture those images which portray my perception of the beauty and poetry in this world; Without disregarding the pain and the injustice in this world, I allow others to photograph this, and make my own way as a unique journalist reporting on the subtle beauty in life which in it`s quiet way, is often overseen. I seek the scenes which are to be found in every day life, perfect and elegant without manipulation, as well as the conceptual ones which evolve in my fantasy . I am drawn toward those places which I yearn for and all which contrasts with the often chaotic world in which we live. Timeless scenes in which there are no borders express the universal nature of my photographic language. I wish to meet all viewers without the limits of age, trends, or locality. My aim is to open up a dialogue with the viewer, one in which I begin by sharing my world .I consider the reply of the viewer essential in completing the circle of communication. ...

On Line Exhibition of the winners of "Virtual*Visual" sponsored by Women in photography International, USA July 2004 May 2004 she won the competition sponsored by Pontos de Vista under the title "My Best Photo".
In June 2004 she received the first prize in the portrait category in the International Photography competition of the San Diego County Fair.
She also received an additional first prize awarded by the San Diego Artists Guild,where her image was part of a special exhibition .
In July 2004 she won the first prize in the foreign 'people' category in the international competition virtual*visual sponsored by the organization 'Women in Photography'.This award was followed by an on-line exhibition.
In October 2004 her work was shown by Galerie Bohner at the "Salzburg International Kunstmesse".
In November 2004 she was nominated for the Black and White Spider Awards in the category Fine Art, and was featured in an on-line exhibition..
In December 2004 she received honorable mention in the international competition 'The decisive moment' sponsored by Women in Photography International, USA.
In April 2005 she was awarded an honorable mention in the category 'Americana' by the Smithsonian Institute.On-line exhibition.
In October 2005, Dayle Ann Clavin was awarded an honorable mention in the category amateur fine art portrait as participant in the 2005 International Photography Awards, known as the "Lucie Awards". This major N.Y. competition drew in 16,600 images from around the world and selected images were exhibited.
In December 2005 she was nominated for the Black and White Spider Awards in the category Architecture with on-line exhibition.
The Art Of Digital Show (October 7th-November 19th 2006) International Exhibition of Digital Art, Lyceum Theater Gallery, San Diego, California, USA. Her work was among the best 100 images selected by Hugh Davies, curator of the San Diego Museum of Modern Art, from 2730 entries which were submitted by artists from 32 countries around the world.
In June 2007 she participated in the San Diego County Fair International Photography competition , resulting in 7 images being selected for the exhibition out of almost 4000 entires and a second place.
Dayle Ann Clavin's work was included in the 2007 publication "The World's Greatest Black and White Photography" , a collection of 450 Photographs from the Spider Awards. The book was 3 years in the making and over 13,000 images were screened.
In Mai 2008, first prize in the photo competition Prix de la Photographie Paris 2008 in the category of Nature,sub-category Wildlife, with the image" Swans in Motion".
Images are digitally printed on high quality gallery paper from high resolution negative scans.
