Artist Statement for Deirdre Baskin

Greetings fellow art lover:
My name is Deirdre, and I appreciate your visit to my portfolio page. While I am not an Art major, I’ve dabbled in a variety of fine arts activities for most of my life. My specific interest in drawing manifested a few years ago when I met a rather passionate and talented Studio Art major in college. I never imagined that I would move from sketching stick figures in times of necessity to displaying my drawings in local art shows. I have selected charcoal as my medium of choice (though I have arts and crafts in a variety of media) and have received a good response for my work thus far. Having an online portfolio is one of my many motivators to become a better artist, and I hope at the same time I can bring enjoyment to others by sharing my work with the world.
