The rocking artist of this new age that is Mr. Debasish Podder had born in Kolkata, in 19th March 1976. Debasish is a self skilled artist. He lives and works in Kolkata. Apart from exhibitions in major cities of India his works has displayed & Collected in abroad like ‘gallery Art Rendezvous’, Bangkok; ‘Saatchi’ gallery, London; ‘gallery of International Art’, New Work; ‘Mondo Arte’ in the ‘Mall of Emirates’, Al Borsha, Dubai; ‘Banladesh Gallery’, Bangladesh Deputy High Commission ( Sponsored by Bangladesh Govt.); etc..
In India he has held three solos and many group shows. The major exhibitions to be named like Lalit Kala Academy, ‘Village Art’ gallery, ‘Krisnas Collection’ Art gallery ( New Delhi); Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai); ‘Chitra Kala Parishad’,( Bangalore ); ‘Lalit Kala Academy’ ( Chennai ), ‘ Gallery 54’ Chandigarh etc.. His paintings also displayed in his hometown Kolkata in some famous galleries like Academy of Fine Arts, , Birla Academy, Chemould Art Gallery, Artist Circle Art Gallery etc..
Nature, women & mythology are the inspirations behind his art. Women form and integral part of nature make his art exclusive. His use of color is as forthright and bright as is seemed to be transparent. The striking feature of his paintings is a dreamy and soft feel, in total empathy with the subjects of his drawing. His paintings are cozy and stunning to eyes.
