Artist Statement for Adri A. C. De Fluiter

My work developed from textile sack like forms to ‘wrapping sculptures’ ( objects and installations created by wrapping stripes of textile around frames made out of branches, steel, etc.) till the temporary ‘flames’. This form means to a symbol for the spiritual aspect in every human being. Goal of all my work is to make the unseen visual aspects of the total environment visible. In my latest installation ‘Treeflames 2 – the border I visualize the ‘flame’ hidden in oak trees by enwrapping partly the crown.
When you vist my artwork you will find it in this order: Sculpture (indoor, outdoor), Drawings, Icons, Paintings, Drawings for future site specific projects, executed site specific projects.
Another part of my work is to act as curator for international art-in-nature projects. (Global Art Fund).For example in 2005: ‘Art and nature walk The Legend’ (www.natuurkunstdrenthe.nl) and ‘Hidden Lanes’ (www.cbkzeeland.nl) click ‘verborgen lanen’. In 2006 ‘Art and nature walk Still Water’. In 2007 ‘Art and nature walk Green Revolution’.
