Artist Statement:
It has been said that there is only one pre-requisite for being an artist, and that is, to simply call yourself one. However, I have found that a good artist is when other people call you an artist.
My two favorite artist's are Claude Monet and Rodney Matthews, It sounds odd, because these two people are of different worlds. But, the previous statement is actually a refection of my own artistic diversity. I work in different mediums and techniques, and my studies range from fictional character's to historical events. Everyday modern women tend to inspire me of the things they do on a daily basis. American, Canadian, and Christian/Hebrew History inspires me as well. I like to re-create events that are significant, but not found in school text books.
When after deciding upon a subject, I then decide what format I will use to best portray the subject. It might be watercolor wash, oil impasto perhaps in primitive fashion or soft brush impressionism. Sometimes, I'll just draw a subject in either pen or conte. And, if I really feel wild, I dive into the world of collage. ...
