Artist Statement:
Desmond Murrie: Irish Horse
Painter.
His style is more an
impression of what he sees
rather than the actual scene.
He says "impressionism allows
me to add or subtract as a
scene should dictate. I veered
away from exactitude to a more
expressive and evocative way
of applying paint. I tend to
let my paintings show more the
feeling of the atmosphere, the
excitments and apprehension of
people and animals rather than
a mundane scene which would be
captured in a photograph
Desmond likes to paint "en
plein air" thus capturing the
spontaneity of the monent. He
has particular love of
painting charging horses and
enjoys the electric feeling of
horses and mounts jumping over
fences or running down the
straight.
He has painting in private
collections in the U.S ,
England and at home....
