Artist Statement:

(For detailed information and
images, visit

The primary goal of my
paintings is to search for the
underlying beauty of
contemporary urban
environments, particulary in
places where this beauty is
not generally expected or
aknowledged: ordinary streets,
shops, fastfood restaurants,
train stations, industrial
zones ... Obviously,
architecture plays an
important role in this
respect, but also the people
who live in the city and give
it its sense, and cars, that
have in a way become an
extension of man.

From a formal point of view, I
particularly like the rigid
geometric shapes typical of
urban architecture. Combined
with the ever changing light,
they create a wide array of
possiblities both in
composition and in creation of
mood.

My reference materials are
photographs that I take year
round with my digital camera.
The paintings themselves are
done entirely in the studio.
