Artist’s Statement
With Edward Weston on one shoulder and Walt Whitman on the other, I respond to the perfection of women’s beauty that resides in who they are, not merely in how they look. By combining my life-long love of photography and writing, I celebrate Woman, be she the victor or vanquished, loved or despised, popular or lonely. In each woman is all.
Using simple technical processes and advanced listening skills, I am able to access the sacred place whereby a woman reveals her being and the life’s story that led to the development of her.
It is this same approach—being open and accessible to the reality and genuineness of Creation and listening to life —that brings to my senses that, and who, which inspires me no matter whether it is street scenes, or street seen; Her or Him or Them. From these come my words and images.
