Artist Statement for Jason Leisering
|
|
|
Jason Leisering was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He has been drawing and painting ever since he can remember. Through the years Jason has won numerous art awards and grants. Leisering graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2001 and currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Leisering's recent works have concentrated on the landscapes of Hawaii, New Mexico, and Wisconsin. He draws inspiration from the real world, anything is fair game for a painting. The artist doesn't like to limit himself to particular subject matter. Leisering says of his work, " I work in cycles, my primary cycles revolve around figurative work, landscape, abstraction, and surrealism.' 'At times I find myself fascinated with technology and make paintings based on images I manipulate on the computer."
