Artist Statement:
I love abstract art because it
involves the viewer in the
creation process so
thoroughly! When you look at a
piece of abstract art you make
up what it means - you ascribe
meaning to the piece - and
that is a good thing.
The other thing about abstract
art is that, when it's good,
it expresses something or
things about being human that
gets expressed in no other
way. The same with jazz, my
other passion, as a unique art
form that communicates our
humanity, uniquely!
My current work involves
patterns and symbols -
repetition of color, or shape
or brush stroke or other
technique. It's a challenge,
and that makes it engaging for
me.
