Reflections
"In search of the muse"
These paintings have emerged from a deep sense of sorrow and loss that I have experienced recently. They helped me in my search for meaning. May they shed a small ray of light on you as well.

Artist Statement
I am a self trained Artist. After 11 years as a Director of Information Technology at a Financial Services company, I felt major burnout and despair. It was then that I felt a calling to paint and create. I purchased a book on Acrylic painting, but it remained on the shelf for about a year before I opened it.
As a child, I enjoyed coloring books, sketching, and making pictures. I took one art class in school. I abandoned the notion of becoming an artist. I had no talent; my people looked like monkeys and everything else could not be identified. 28 years later, I find an unusual inspiration that drives me to paint.
My first paintings were created on paper. When I took them to the store to be framed, people behind me in line and the workers behind the counter expressed exceptional interest and desire in my work. I was completely amazed that anyone besides myself wanted to have my pictures. Since then I have done commissioned artwork for personal collections and have participated in numerous exhibitions, one leading to a piece of art at the National Library of Congress. So there you have the beginnings of my story.
I began painting in August of 2001 and have created the following artwork. I work from my home studio, seeking to understand and find a “special something” that makes these works unique. Perhaps one day soon it will become obvious, but for now the uniqueness comes only from random reflections on life.
