Welcome to D. L. Watson's Portfolio.
For me, painting is a journey, one where I travel deep within myself, allowing me to express emotions both consciously and subconsciously.
I work spontaneously and intuitively, really never knowing where my journey will lead.
I prefer to work on large canvases so that my strokes can be more gestural, making the process physical as well as emotional.
I am experimental in both my technique and subject, but strive to convey a sense of consistency usually done through a process of layering. This process involves many layers of transparent and opaque mediums, adding, scraping, taking away and covering up until ... |
