Artist Statement:
My current work reflects natural surroundings and ranges from realistic to abstract collage using acrylics, watercolor, mixed media, and some pastel. Colors are exciting and I strive to communicate that through my paintings. In the 70's I was trained in the traditional use of oils and my palette was quite limited and pale. In the late 80's during my busy life I turned to acrylics for their quick drying properties. In the 90's I studied basic design and delved into more color exploration and textural techniques. This was a big turning point and I have learned to love exploratory art and creating intuitive pieces. You can view them at my website.
I am happy to announce one of my works has been juried into the 2006 Westmoreland Art Nationals Juried Exhibition in Latrobe, PA. In Oct. 2005 I was juried into the Oregon Watercolor Society. ...
