Artist Statement:
Cyril Shiva Donkor was born on
the 18th July 1970 in a town
called Ho in Ghana. Shiva, had
his basic education there
(Ho), then proceeded to
Koforidua where his mother
Beatrice Sampram had transfer
and she took him along. Shiva,
had his secondary school
education in Suhum Secondary
Technical School.
Shiva, has come this far
at first starting as a student
of life, who has graduated
from the university of life.
When he started, as a young
boy who was denied of paternal
care and must make ends meet
by cutting out milk tin sheets
to produce toy cars which he
sold to his friends at the age
of 12years. Shiva at this age
was also a friend to a
carpenter who was his god
father to him. It was througth
this carpenter that he shiva
identified his creativityin
wood.
At the age of 14, Shiva
was able to produce a bust of
the first president of Ghana
which was given to his uncle
as a birthday gift.
As they always say, life
is a process - his life took a
very different turn when he
decided to take education very
seriously. He enrolled in
secondary school in Suhum
