Artist Statement:
Inspired by the power of
expression, creation as well
as the blaze of colour of our
planet Earth, this idea of
mine goes back to the
structures, contrasts and
colourings that have been in
existence on our planet for
eternity.
Yellow, red, blue, green,
black and white are the
primary colours that mix and
remix themselves over and over
in our global treasure box of
paints.
My work is a testament to
these observations, my humble
attempt to reduce the
complexity of nature to its
very essence.
To this end, I have made avid
use of natural materials, such
as sand, pigments and other
tidbits that I have picked up
along the way while traveling
- interesting bits of
memorabilia typical for the
particular region of choice.
