Artist Statement:
Born on November 19th, 1981, Sara has always seen magical and wonderous things around her. Faeries, mermaids, and elves came naturally, and when it was time to make an adult decision to keep the fairytales or leave them, she only advanced further. Sara attended the Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 2000 to pursue the talents God provided her. In 2003 she traveled abroad to Scotland to study at the Glasgow School of Art where she wandered the Highlands and searched for the roots in fairytales. When she returned home and graduated in 2004 with her BFA, the road became clearer, and her work had a purpose. "It is my hope that I inspire others with visions of spirit, love, and imagination.”
When Sara met Sterling, a dashing young man, questions about the faeries, mermaids, and elves arised that she couldn’t answer. Sterling introduced her to a path that connected to the road back in Scotland. In 2005 Sara converted to Christianity. This made a drastic change in her work and visions, introducing richer imagery, angels, warriors, royalty, and messages.
Today Sara resides in her hometown with Sterling, a sergeant for the Iowa Army National Guard Supply and Admin. ...
