Artist Statement:
popular contemporary and
historical imagery, blended
with fantasy, proffer a path
of extensive perennial
inspiration of my creative
work. By juxtaposing diverse
pictorial elements from global
sources, newly forged and
deeper dimensions of aesthetic
and cultural perception are
revealed. Here, canvas and
paper are not mere surfaces.
They are stages upon which
theatre takes place; each a
stage where drama is visually
enacted, is painted. Myraid
images, in essence, are
metaphorically transformed
characters. Whether conscious
or sub-concious, the worldly
experience becomes an integral
part of the actual
metamorphosis, rendering a new
meaning and depth.
