Artist Statement:
The joy I derive from painting
wildlife and nature is less
about the actual painting
process than it is the
realization of an experience
put to paper or canvas.
Although I feel nature and
wildlife are beauty
personified, I also believe
that it is in the artist’s
interpretation of this beauty
that makes incredible art. As
such, I never try to capture
the literal image of a photo I
have taken, or a subject I am
working from, but rather
develop my own interpretation
of it. It is through this
interpretation that I hope to
communicate not only the
personalities of the animals I
paint, but also my love of
wildlife and their habitat.
