Artist Statement:
It always intrigued me to speak by means of forms and colours and to transform sounds into pictures.
Additionally, I wanted to try to break open the "compulsiveness" which is often attributed to the PC, and make use of its other, "playful" side:
to play with pixels. My mode of operation is to be compared to that of a sculptor.
From the forms or lines of a sketch I develop new forms, lines and pictures. The material frequently passes through a set of unintentional modifications, until at the end it brings about the finished new work. " Work in progresses " would be the best term, because I am never completely sure whether the final form has been reached, or whether the concept continues to evolve. Es hat mich schon immer gereizt, durch Formen und Farben zu sprechen und den Klang in Bilder umzusetzen. Außerdem wollte ich versuchen, das "Zwanghafte", das man dem PC nachsagt, aufzubrechen und die andere Seite, die Spielerische, des neuen Mediums nutzen: mit Pixeln zu spielen.
