Artist Statement for Christine Derrick

|
I find the technical processes of laying down paint or pastel are often more rewarding than achieving the finished work. It is one reason why I could never settle on using a single medium for my pictures. Portraying light, textures and colour-mixes in different media will probably keep me busy for the remainder of my life. My subject-matter is starting to become a little more diverse; I find it essential to make changes every so often, to prevent boredom.
