Artist Statement for Edward Fialkowski

My images are in the business of exploration. They are my memories. They are my feelings. Sometimes they inspire me to push on and continue my search. Sometimes they urge me to change my search altogether. What am I searching for? I don't know. I find something new everyday worth giving attention to, all of which effect this pursuit. Each piece is a fragmented, scattered, confused, naive, yet lucid, inquiring view of the world (and my place in it).

My works fall under any combination of the following:

-Inexplicable expressions of vapid dreams.
-Unjustifiable justifications of remembered endeavors.
-Extraordinary elucidations of eclectic imagery.
-Circuitous transcendence of accepted norms.
-Altruistic attempts towards inner-solace.
-Inebriated attainment of institutionally invoked cognitive practices.
-Demonstrable presentation of performed functions in an illuminative fashion.
-Puissant foray into the post-modern id.
-Parsimonious injection of self-promoting opinions into a harsh world full of discrete and indiscrete self-aggrandizing hypocrites.
-Therapeutic negation of preconceived erroneous observations.
-Self-abnegationally-induced memories purportedly presenting the promise of illusory happiness.
-Trekking towards staving off ennui, and the other inevitabilities of an immaterially and creatively wealthy individual whom the world has not yet caught up with.
