Artist Statement:
Efren was born in Jiquilpan,
Michoacan, Mexico in march of
1976.
Computer System Engineer by
the Insituto Tecnologico de
Jiquilpan.
Since his early years has felt
a strong attraction for the
plastic arts in its different
expressions, being the oil his
preferred.
Has won several first places
in regional aids of painting
and has participated in state
aids too.
His professors were Jorge
Martinez Villasenor and
Roberto Alanis Lopez.
Efren has given a few painting
courses at the Jiquilpan
Public Library "Lic. Gabino
Ortiz".
Has shown his artwork several
times in colective art shows,
sharing the galleries with
brilliant paintors as Juan
Arceo Rayas, also has had
individual exhibits in several
cities of Mexico and twice in
Inglewood, California, U.S.
Now he is learning english in
Toronto, also showing and
selling his artwork at
"Mariachis" and "Mariachi
Loco" Restaurants.
He likes graphic design, also
has won contests, one for an
international company, in the
quality area....
