My artwork has always been a visual response to place. My surroundings dictate both the subject and appearance of the work. When I was working out of the Delevan Center, on the near West Side of Syracuse, New York, I found elements such as worn bricks and pigeons diving from rooftops entered the paintings. Since moving out to the hills of Pompey NY., I have found my subjects in the gardens and landscapes that surround me.
