I Knew when I was 8 years old when I was painting I connected to God.
at 13, I began to draw with a rapidograph pen, and KNEW I was home.
This was what I wanted to do the rest of my life. AT 18 i saw the Caribbean beauty and knew that I was meant to live and breathe and paint the beauty
to bring back to the people, especially in the cities, from where I began. |

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Eileen Seitz was born in Midtown Manhattan June 28, 1951, Her artistic world began when she was eight years old. At age thirteen she won a first place award for an oil painting in a New York City street art show. At sixteen she sold her first painting to a New York City art dealer. She attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y studying Fine Arts in drawing, oil painting and watercolors.
In 1968 she began her travels. St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Key West, Mexico all of Central America, Columbia, Kauai, Eleuthera , St.Marten, Tortola, Jamaica, Maui, St. Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, Anguilla, England, Brussels, Amsterdam, Germany, Italy, France, Barbados, Trinidad , Tobago, Guadalupe, Taveuni-Fiji, Bega-Fiji Oahu, The Big Island, all inspired and continue to inspire ideas for new works. The Truth and Beauty of these places is overwhelming and inspires Eileen. She deeply feels and embraces the wonder and excitement of life. flowing through her and onto her canvas or paper. Her paintings are in wonderful accord with beautiful harmonic colors yet each painting has a spiritual personality of its own, as does the culture, climate and nature it rejoices in.
In 1981 she moved to Coconut Grove, FL .where in 1982 began to self publish her own
paintings as artcards, posters, s/prints, s/n limited editions and miniprints thus
Opening her market to the entire world. Two years ago she began to expand her artistic talents by designing RUGS which are hand tufted and hand carved from 100% New Zealand Wool Rugs. These works of art are totally different than the imagery one sees in her fine art paintings.
For the past 40 years, Eileens paintings have been for Private commissions, painted and published as art festival posters, received numerous awards, purchased for television and theatre movies, purchased by national and international hotels, resorts, hospitals, banks, restaurants, airports as many other public places where the masses can enjoy them.
Always remembering where the gift comes from, Eileen loves to share this joy that she feels through the act of painting when the spirit speaks through her brush and seeing that spirit reborn in the faces and hearts of the people who come to share her anonymous gift.
