Artist Statement for Elizabeth Bogard

Elizabeth Bogard is a Texas artist who strives to express the unfathomable mystery of life in her work. She works in several media including drawings, paintings, collage, mixed media and assemblage. The artist is often inspired by photographs she takes of women caught in a moment of time. She hones in on the image by making drawings and tracings before taking up the brush. Provocatively imbibed with mystery, the final work reflects the artist's deep relationship with the subject.
