Artist Statement:
Elena DeLuca was born in
Jeannette Pennsylvania in
1966. Her father is an artist
& his father before him, so
the talent was passed down to
her.
She prefers doing pencil
sketches, but her webpage
mostly shows examples of
paintings. Most of the pieces
she has done for local fairs.
Some hang in her home & others
wer sold or given to friends.
She believs that any form of
art work comes from the heart.
There are no rules, only
techniques & ideas. What
works for one may not work for
others. What ever it takes to
get something done & you are
pleased with the results is
all that matters.

Since around 1989 I have been entering in the Westmoreland Fair. My first piece that i entered was a pen & ink item that one second place.
Every year since then I have entered a piece in every catagory-oil, acrylic, mixed media, watercolor, pen & ink, pencil, & pastel. Since that time I have won many ribbons & cash prizes. I have even sold a few pieces.
In 1994 I enterd a piece to the Art & Heratige Festival in Greensburg. They had over 2,000 entries and could only choose 50 to be hung in the gallery. My piece was choosen to be one of them. I did not win a ribbon or prize moeny but I had a piece in the building.
In 1999 I enterd 5 pieces in the Harrold fair in Greensburg. Three placed first & two placed second.
In 2001 I entered for the first time in the Derry area fair. I submitted 7 pieces & 6 won first & one won third. I also took best of show.
In 2002 I entered 5 fairs. In one of them I took home a second place trophy for an oil piece. At another I took home best of show.
