Artist Statement:
Elizabeth turned her back on a 22-year accounting career to pursue her life long dream. She received her B.F.A. in 2000 at the University of Windsor, where she majored in Photography and minored in painting.
Elizabeth's large scale figurative watercolors are quietly sensual. Using the figure as her base, she abstracts the human form with colour. Flooding her paper with vivid, thick pools of juicy watercolor the paint moves where it will. The paintings take a long time because each pool of paint must be allowed to dry, this process takes tremendous patience.
Her photographic tribute to her father in the book "Don't Grow Old," shows her deep compassion for the elderly. To view this book go to her web page link at the bottom of this portfolio.
Printmaking is another passion. The process of working an intaglio plate is challenging, yet rewarding.
