Reviews for Ronaldo Encarnación:

An abstract painting doesn't try to represent, neither to mention, neither to comment, neither to illustrate neither to shuffle concepts. It is simply constituted in fact per se. And one assumes it or rejects it knowing that, at least, the author aspires to establish a highly subjective dialogue, at level of sensations, discarding those "this reminds me" and those "this looks like."
The satori speaks by Buddhism zen, that is to say, that moment where suddenly the practitioner ends up glimpsing the reality such which is, without disguise neither corrupted interpretations, it is the same idea that Encarnacion pursues, defining the space finely with plastic resources, underlining the aerial of the composition with wide and expressive brushstrokes, incorporating matter seemingly unaware to a speech that constantly it’s affirmed and it’s refuses, in dialectical growth.
His Participant painting, denied to any symbolism, the artist tries to react only with shrugs to the terrible questions that stalk to the mankind from the birth of the world. It is not an easy neither kind dialogue; it requires of the "onlooker" certain grade of purity, to leave at the gallery’s door the prejudices and knowledge fixed in time.

Ronaldo Encarnación (Pinar del Río, 1973) the imagery is the result of an intense forethought. Be enough to visit him at his atellier, to watch him at the creative process, to listen the music that inspires him, How he spills in the ecstatic rhythm of the artwork reflecting an spiritual yearning, an artistic mutation of his personal experiences, constituting an answer to lived realities or simply heard, establishing an emblem of his own existence, making visible his emotions that are expressed in the temperament and his own personality that it’s reflected on the canvas, or any other support.
Once Beuys pointed: "The human beings should learn how to transcend their reality. They should create a spiritual vehicle with which they can reach to a point of view totally different from the Universe." Ronaldo shows us that it is possible, his "vehicle" is on that opposed creation to all mystification in art but that at the same time, it heightens it. His rigorous work has come developing without ruptures neither jumps, he has come changing by gradual form, in search of an austere language, to express his feelings and, at the same time, to dialogue with the spectator, reflecting a great discipline intellectual and aesthetic. In spite of his youth, his work has become more mature, with more strength, and mainly as pure reflection of those emotions.
Let’s take a look then, these artworks and meditate.
