Artist Statement for Enriquillo Rodriguez Amiama

"We live in a fast paced world, which repeats over again and again. At times
we do not understand that "life keeps us alive and not just living". I
realize that my paintings give us - because I am too a spectator - an
opportunity to absorb, to rest the soul. It is not escapism...I can't
ignore the truth; but I think the best way to face up to our problems is
with a free and clear mind and not with one which is exhausted and confused.

God created good and beautiful things for us to enjoy eventhough we seem
committed to destroying them and destroying ourselves.

I want to reach the most impressionable parts, the affectionate ones, with
touches of light; with bright but serene colors; and share in the delight of
these simple things that have been created.

Thanks God, I discover that there are still many people that discuss art;
that appreciate a minute of tranquility and contemplate and listen with soul
to that harmonious music that is quietly recognized, through the rhythm of
the strokes and the chords of the colors, creating each one with his
memories and emotions and his own internal sceneries".
