Artist Statement:
His interest in art and his
artistic talent piqued at an
early age. Manara` s fine art
education belongs to Artistic
College of Bologna where he
studied in the classical
tradition and (1971-1975) in
acclaimed Italian/European
Academy of Fine Arts in
Bologna.
After graduating Enzo had a
keen interest in teaching,
taught drawing and painting in
the State Istitute of Art of
Adolfo Venturi in Modena. He
has exhibited his paintings in
various galleries.
Since beginning his
professional career Manara
expressed his capacity to
capture the infinite nuances
of light, color, and form. He
is the one of the first
designers for italian
decorative ceramic tiles and
one of the serious experts in
ceramic tiles industry in 2001
he became President of CerArte
(Association of artistic
ceramics industry).
Over the past 20 years Manara
put his entusiasm and artistic
passion for creating the
italian ceramic style,
preparing design for Trussardi
( Rex ), Bluemarine (Pisa),
Versace (Gardenia Orchidea)
and many others.
Enzo Manara is an exquisite
draftsman and excellent
colorist, for all this years
he continued to design, paint
and sculpt. He participated
with his work in two
international Biennale di
Ceramica.
