ABOUT THE SHOW :

Couched amid historical artifacts and contemporary art celebrating PARADISE LOST, the greatest poem in the English language. Perhaps the largest birthday party for Milton in the world, with poets, artists and composers. We will be documenting this extravaganza on video to produce a documentary for this historical event that we believe will be seen for centuries to come. Milton’s centennial birthday will not come again for another 100 years. Be part of it! If you attend the gala, you will probably be in this video!
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“The exhibit and programs promise to be a diverse collection of multiple perspectives and strategies that should engage the audience you hope to reach.” From a letter to Terrance Lindall from Wendy Woon, the Edward John Noble Foundation Deputy Director for Education of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Thank you for your attention reading this post.
Continue with my artistic statement :

Dr. med. Gerd Matysik, who has studied human medicine at an university, has found his passion for art as an autodidact - inspirated by his emotional experiences with body and nature.

Art Matysik is an association of artists to complement one another in the artistic creative work, but simultaneously maintaining the artistic identity and style of the individual artist. One of these artists of ARTMATYSIK is Dr. Matysik.

In the last years Art Matysik´s works of art became famous because of numerous art exhibitions in germany and the foreign countries.

Dr. Gerd Matysik´s artistic spectrum is accordingly to the inner complexity of the human being and his many-sided relations to his daily surrounding field and the nature extensive.

One crucial point of the hitherto presented works of art is the human being in the field of tension to his environment.

Because of the human being´s permanent desire for love and safety and unconsciously or conciously the important role of sexuality in his life you can find these central themes in the artists´ work again and again,
especially in the erotic paintings, nudes and portraits.

Faced with the mental impoverishment and emotionless in the interpersonal area and the human being´s destruction of the nature without thinking the
onlooker can get an impression of the nature´s singular beauty and the variety of the creation
by looking at the landscape impressions and animal portraits of Dr. Matysik - and perhaps he will get an answer to the questions and problems of daily life he is worried about, namely finding inner peace, satisfaction and mental balance after sorting oneself out and
seperating from the omnipresent heterosuggestion.

Of course, apart from these central questions of human life a lot of actual themes and problems are reflected in numerous socialcritical in- and outdoor projects of Dr. Matysik as one of Art Matysik`s artists – but naming them all at this place, that would go too far.

For this reason we would like to show you a summary of Dr. Matysik´s artistic spectrum:

- aero & space art
- animal portraits
- automobile portraits
- cartoons
- classic and modern portraits
- erotic painting: erotic visions,
- in- and outdoor projects
- landscape impressions
- still lifes
- time critical installations

in oil, acrylic, pastel, pencil ...

During his artistic work the artist prefer oil colors and pastel crayon, both characterized by their bright and pure colors. For this reason the works of art appear extraordenarily intensive in color and get because of the transparent play of colors a special and characteristic intensive radiation, especially the works of art in pastel crayon.

But also the in comparison to the oil color and pastel crayon “modern” acrylic color is often used in the artist`s paintings. The short drying process leaves the artist a lot of scope for spontaneousness, but also forces to work quickly and confidently - important requirements in order to get a painting of high quality.
