Artist Statement:
This is the story of me
and the women in my life.
This is how I see us -
all in black and white,
with light and shade,
being softcentered ,
hardcored , subtle ,
robust, demure and
presumptuous … for being
like this, is the only
way a society can be
build on us women.
This is the story of the
women in my life - they
are all farmworkers, working
with us on a tablegrape
farm next to the Orange
river. To me …. they are
pillars of strength by
being trustworthy,
hardworking, honest ,
reliable and women …..
I simply MUST draw them
because I can see their
true beauty -
