| Your Personal Biography |
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, evie tirado attended Richmond College, where she studied with abstract expressionist, Pat Passloff, and later went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and art.
The next two decades she lived on the west coast, where she taught art, crafts, and floral design to various populations, including children, seniors, and mentally ill adults.
With her own art, she worked almost exclusively in batik, creating wearable silks, and wall hangings.
In 1998, a back injury necessitated a transition of mediums. Batik and painted silk were replaced by watercolor, more easily executed, during extended periods of immobility.
evie tirado has returned to Brooklyn. Her current work includes watercolors,
acrylics, assemblages, mixed media, digital painting and photography. She has participated in numerous craft shows, and her work has been featured in many boutiques and galleries in the United States and abroad.
She also facilitates an art group at a neighborhood Mental Health Center.
