Artist Statement for Evelina Craven
|
|
|
My work is colour and energy. Almost everything ends up vibrant and full of joy. I do not paint reality. I imagine impossible things or invent compositions which come from the unconscious mind or other dimensions which I myself do not know where they come from.
I was born in Brazil where I live part of my life and worked as a scientist. I have a Bs.C. (Brazil) and a Ph.D. (U.K., London)
I came to London to complete
I come from an artistic family and have been involved in visual arts since my adolescent years. To become a professional artist was my dream. I finished a B.A. in Fine Arts (HONS) (U.K., 1993)
Since then I have been producing some 700 paintings and 550 drawings and have received 5 prizes for best abstract works.
Some of my work is now part of private collections including Brazil, Portugal, Canada, Greece and Japan.
