Artist Statement:
Istvan Farkas was born in
Budapest, Hungary in 1964.
He has been involved in the
art of photography since
the age of 16. He began
training in photography in
Budapest in 1984 which was
followed by additional
art courses at the College of
Fine Art at the University
of New South Wales in Sydney,
Australia.
Upon graduating from the CFA
in 1991 he began his
professional career as a
fashion photographer. After
years of involvement in
commercial photography and
many photo projects around the
world from SE Asia to
Nth America, he started to
contribute photographic
essays and portfolios to
publications on a freelance
basis in 1995.
His photographic interests
include alternative
processes, Polaroid transfer
and digital imaging,
while his subject matter
ranges from abstract to
scenics to nudes to
documentary...
The works of Istvan Farkas has
been exhibited in various
shows in Australia, Nth
America and Europe and can be
found in collections in
different countries....
