Artist Statement:
I create paintings that investigate concepts of place, identity, and belonging. After studying at Edinburgh College of Art I moved to America to complete my MFA at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Upon graduating I relocated back to Scotland.
With returning to my childhood home after an absence of ten years, the research for my work now examines the connection I have to the landscape of the North East of Scotland and the important role that memory has in the definition of place.
