| Your Personal Biography |
I'm an artist from a small town called Phoebus that's adjacent to Hampton University (located in Hampton, Virginia).
I apparently exhibited some talent and interest in art beginning in my early childhood. My family and my community were supportive of my activities and by High School, my skills had sufficiently developed so that I worked as a portrait and caricature artist at the local amusement park, Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.
After high school, I attended Howard University in Washington DC, during the 1990s. During that time, I explored many genres of artistic expression and was very attracted to theater. From theater, I moved into television working as an assistant at BET. My interest in full-length narrative brought me to Los Angeles where I worked various jobs in the entertainment industry.
I attended UCLA's Graduate film school for 1 year before taking a summer painting class. After taking this class, I took a leave of absence but continued to make artwork, inspired by my acceptance of being a 'frustrated writer'. While making my own art, I began working in the commercial art world as a salesperson/art consultant.
In 2007, I am now graduating from Otis College of Art & Design with an MFA in Painting. Currently, I reside in Los Angeles where I am establishing myself as an emerging artist. |
