Artist Statement for Frederick Potter

|
I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada... one of the most conservative places on the planet. Sometimes I feel that I have dropped into the rabbit hole for this world is so different from the European and Eastern Block culture that I have come to love so much. It seems to me that North Americans have forgotten the beauty of sensuality and now confuse erotic art with porn. Therefore, in order for me to offer my artwork to the world, I need to expand my boudaries beyond the conservative walls of North American culture and connect with the global community who understands, and values, the type of art I have to offer.
I hope that you like my work. It is derived from passion. Born from long hours of toil. And inspired by my Muse, my beautiful wife Oleanna. I hope that it stirs in you the feelings of passion that inspired me to create it.
