Artist Statement for Mona Gable
|
|
|
Mona Gable is a composer, producer, photographer and visual artist. A native of New York City, she has spent the past 20 years living in Southern California.
Although she has made her living as a composer, scoring for film, television, and advertising, she has enjoyed a life long passion for photography, painting and filmmaking. Digital photography has opened an entirely new world for her, allowing the freedom to manipulate and express images in new and interesting ways.
She enjoys all subject matters and genres in her artistic endeavors, everything from photographing dreary, industrial subjects and beautifying them, to manipulating photos of some famous friends.
By blending her love of both music and visual media, Mona has recently begun producing for television and films. "I have always enjoyed scoring so much, and had developed a natural curiosity to experiment with other aspects of those mediums." She has just completed a short documentary dealing with the issue of freedom of speech for the film festival circuit, and is now fervently working on a TV pilot for which she is both creator and executive producer.
Last year her photography was shown at the prestigious James Brown Visual Soul exhibition in Augusta, Georgia, and will be exhibited June through July 2007 at the NoHo Gallery LA, in North Hollywood, California. Check out her company's official website for more news and information...
