| Your Personal Biography |
My name is Gabriel Rico García, I’m the youngest son of my parents Mr. Alfredo Rico and Mrs. Mariela Garcia. I was raised by a conservative family, mixing the mind frame of the two sides of the country, because my father’s family is from the Northern Mexico and my mother’s family is from the southern Mexico.
The Northern point of view is a productive, proactive and entrepreneurial impulse to get success and wealth. The southern point of view is kind, cheerful and ready for celebrate. Also I become a long term student on the Marist Schools, where I had practiced football soccer, races and artistic ateliers. During the evenings of my elementary school I was curious about the nature and I become researcher of the changes in the nature. Then I was enrolled to the sports in the school and the club, where I was swimming until reach my own goals. The official team of the YMCA and the Marist University called me to participate in the competitions and races.
When I had finished junior High School I had decided to study textile design, a new career in that time didn’t exist, I was hard to convince my family, my parents and my friends that it was and is a great career.
I began to work in my fathers store selling supplies to the buildings and decoration. Then, a friend of my cousin Favian Vergara opened his doors to the Fashion Bussiness and I was his assistant.
Then the best men factory invited me to have some practices inside, knowing the know how by the Italian Style of Gruppo Finanziario Tessile, the textile group who has supported Giorgio Armani in his early times.
After this experience I traveled to Italy to study Fashion Design and get new opportunities to learn about the world. To reach this goal, I made up my mind and realize that the languages help to understand the world and the people.
I decided to certified the English and the Italian as second languages.
With this new skills I decided to go back to Italy, where I grew up professionally and improve the exporting knowledge and fair production.
Coming back to my country, I was encouraged to complement my studies with a college background; Business Administration and Marketing was the new tool to prepare myself for the ladder of work. I know that for teach something is basic to know how to do it, so I had been in all the intense jobs that the Fashion System could try. It’s also important to update any study or technical information and so I constantly search seminars, courses and opportunities to improve.
The main fairs invited my to support their shows, their designers and schools, like Exintex (the main Textile fair in Mexico), some private Universities as: National University of Mexico, Iberoamerican University, House of France, Anahuac University and Technological Institute of Monterrey; Fashion Week Mexico, Moda Premio (Fashion Award) and some Embassies like Italy and Brasil.
I feel cheerful about my experience and career, but I want to reach higher goals to establish new criteria about the fashion, the design and them products.
